“In a way, we are thinking of this event as a ‘Pep Rally’ for Orono parents,” said Betsy Yamron, spokesperson for the Alliance. “Parents have been the driving force in motivating others to make our schools better and fill in the gaps in the State education budget. Parent and community funds have directly affected our schools for this school year with more than 9 teaching positions being reinstated. The Alliance would like to celebrate this generosity and encourage parents to continue to be involved in all aspects of the Orono schools.”
All costs associated with this event have been donated. Refreshments will be catered by the Peppercorn Grill in Long Lake, and music will be provided by Orono Alum, Mark Bendickson and his band. There is no cost to attend the Thank You party, but space is limited and reservations are required. RSVP to the Alliance @ 952-545-6873 by September 28th if you would like to attend.
