The Orono Education Fund (OEF) is a standing committee of the Orono Alliance. The OEF:

Funds $9,500 for specific teacher and classroom projects identified by the Orono schools, and

Awards ten $1,000 scholarships to senior students graduating from Orono schools to pursue post-secondary education.

Recognizes one distinguished alumni with a scholarship grant to a high school senior for further education.

How the OEF Works

The OEF receives $20,000 in unrestricted funds from the Orono Alliance for classroom grants and scholarships. It also raises funds independently.

Each year, the OEF accepts teacher grant application requests and scholarship recommendations from the Orono schools. It evaluates the requests and decides on awards and scholarships on the basis of merit.
